"What if capabilities" The Direct to Point function allows the user to specify many different scenarios affecting a storm's forecasted track, speed and intensity. In the example below the user's scenario was to have Hurricane Floyd move directly to Fort Lauderdale, FL maintaining its current intensity and speed of motion. All graphics and reporting functions of the system then assume this scenario. The user also has the ability to modify the storm's forecasted intensity, speed of motion and areas of 34, 50 and 64 knot winds. |
